Marvel Legends – Wolverine (Juggernaut BAF Wave) vs Wolverine (Vintage Wave 1)
Here we have Wolverine in his brown suit, which first appeared in Uncanny X-men #139. He wore this costume for quite a while, and has appeared in it once in a while till now. Wolverine has had quite a few costumes. Check it it here to see more of them!
These two figures use the same mold as all the recent Hasbro Wolverine. The Juggernaut BAF Wave Wolverine is actually the start of the new Wolverine body mold. Since then, Hasbro has been using this mold for different versions of Marvel Legends Wolverine.
The Juggernaut Wolverine comes with an alternate clawless fist. The claws on the clawed hands can actually be removed; it can simply be pulled it. There’ll be holes there however. But for toy photography, all you have to do is angle the knuckles away and it can’t really be seen, so I kinda wish he came with some other accessories, but oh well.
The Vintage Wave Wolverine comes with an unmasked head and mask. The unmasked head has been used before on the Wolverine in Jubilee BAF Wave.
These two figures are actually exactly the same except for the difference in shade of yellow, brown and red.
Besides the differences in shade of brown on the suit and red on the belt, and also a slight differences of yellow, the arms on the Vintage Wave Wolverine has hair!
Now that’s one thing that Toybiz didn’t forget; most of the Toybiz Wolverine has those black lines for hair as Wolverine has been depicted to have hairy arms, not smooth shaven arms. The Juggernaut Wolverine is missing the hair paintwork.
The claws are also different in colour, but both still sucks. However, between the two, I guess I’d prefer the Vintage Wave Wolverine claws. Juggernaut Wolverine claws are too white. Vintage Wave Wolverine claws are grey. It would have been great if they were shiny to actually resemble metal. Lol.
The alternate head can fit both Wolverine. Heck I think it can fit all Wolverines with this body mold. But the mask’s colour is specific to the Vintage Wave Wolverine, so it can’t be used for other Wolverine figures.
Wolverine (Juggernaut BAF Wave):
+ Darker shade of brown
+ Darker shade of red for the belt
+ Slightly darker yellow
+ Comes with clawless fists
– Claws too white
Wolverine (Vintage Wave 1):
+ Lighter shade of brown
+ Lighter shade of red on the belt
+ Slightly lighter shade of yellow
+ Comes with unmasked head and hanging mask
+ Claws are at least grey in colour (but could have been shiny to make it look more metallic)

Here’s the Hasbro Brown Suit Wolverines lining up with Toybiz Brown Suit Wolverine. You can check it their comparison in my other post here.
I prefer the longer torso and shorter legs of Habro Wolverine. Toybiz Wolverine has long legs and shorter torso.

Here’s the Brown Suit Wolverines lined up with Astonishing Wolverine from Puck BAF Wave and Cyclops from Warlock BAF Wave. The new Wolverine body mold is almost a head shorter than the buck cap mold. Wolverine has been depicted as shorter than the others in the comics.
Between the Juggernaut Wolverine and Vintage Wave Wolverine, I prefer the Vintage Wave Wolverine as the lighter brown is more accurate to the comics. If I want a clawless fist, I can just remove the claws, so the accessories of unmasked head and hanging mask is great.
