Here we have the two Venoms which were released only 2 years apart. The Absorbing Man BAF Venom came out in 2016, and Venom was released again in the Monster Venom BAF Wave in 2018. I think this is one of the character that was rereleased very fast.
They use the same body exact body mold and have the same paintwork and spider logo on chest and back.
The main difference are the accessories that comes with each figure.
The main difference are the heads. The 2018 Venom has a Venom and an unmasked Eddie Brock head, whereas the 2016 Venom has 2 different Venom head. All 3 Venom heads are different renditions of Venom in the comics.
All three of them looks great to me, I really don’t have any preference. My only gripe is that the one with the tongue, the teeth looks blunt.

The unmasked head is decent too. It looks like the Eddie Brock from the 90s Spider-man comics drawn by Todd Mcfarlane. The tendrils can be placed on the shoulders. I find the tendrils look good only for close up pics. Kinda looks weird when the tendrils are on and you take a full picture of the figure. Just my opinion though.
Venom (Monster Venom BAF Wave):
+ 1 Venom head & 1 Eddie Brock head
– No extra pair of hands
Venom (Absorbing Man BAF Wave):
+ 2 different Venom heads
+ Has 2 pair of hands (fists and clawed hands)
– No unmasked head
I don’t know how you are gonna decide which Venom to get, if you are getting one of them. I’m definitely keeping both because they have different important accessories; the masked head, the clawed hands, different Venom heads.
The parts are interchangeable between the two figures. Why can’t Hasbro release a Venom figure with all the accessories? We always end up buying multiple of the same figure. (Or at least I do.. Huhu)
