Here we have Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Ultron from ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ movie. The BAF Ultron came out in 2015, and the character was rereleased as part of the MCU 10th Year Anniversary in 2018. They have the exact same body mold and does not come with any accessories. However, they do have an obvious difference in paintwork.
The 10th Anniversary Ultron has shiny silver paintwork with more red lines, whereas the BAF Ultron is has some silver with faded grey at the arms, waits and feet.
The figure itself kinda looks like terminator to me. Heh. You can see above that the back part of both figures are plain. The back part of the BAF Ultron has no silver at all except the shoulders; the rest is grey,
The paintwork on the face is different, mainly due to the red lines for the 10th Anniversary Ultron. I though the 10th Anniversary Ultron head is a good upgrade, but it also reminds me of the Billy, the puppet in the SAW movies. (Urgh, I’m so not into that sort of gore movies.)
I really don’t understand why Hasbro did the dull grey paintwork on the BAF Ultron. They could have made it more silver, but nooooo, they have to reissue an updated figure with better paintwork, and suckers like me will still buy them. Huhu.
The BAF Ultron on have red paint near the armpits, neck and on the abdomen. The 10th Anniversary Ultron has more red lines, even on the arms and thighs.
Here you can see the silver part of the BAF Ultron. Why can’t they use that silver throughout the figure? It would have looked waaaay better.
+ Less red lines
– Grey paintwork on certain parts of the body, mainly arms, feet and hip area. Has some silver parts though.
MCU 10th Anniversary Ultron:
+ More red lines throughout the body
+ Consistent metallic silver throughout the body
They have the same body mold and no accessories, but the metallic silver of the MCU 10th Anniversary Ultron is definitely a win between this two. Its good for those who didn’t get the BAF when it first came out.
MCU 10th Anniversary Ultron for the win!
