Hey runt! That’s Sabretooth favourite line towards Wolverine lol.
Here we have Toybiz Sabretooth from Series V and Hasbro Sabretooth from Apocalypse BAF Wave.
Both Sabretooth figures are in his iconic appearance. Toybiz Sabretooth comes with a sentinel base while the Hasbro Sabretooth does not have any accessories.
I find the elbow joint weird on the Toybiz Sabretooth; it forms a plus sign at the front of the arms lol.
You can see that the Toybiz Sabretooth paintwork has a dull light brown and dark brown, and the Hasbro Sabretooth has a brighter mustard-ish brown and dark brown. I think everyone will have their own preference for the colour of this costume.
Some may find the Toybiz to be dull or dark, and some may find the Hasbro Sabretooth to be too bright.
The Toybiz Sabretooth is slightly taller than Hasbro Sabretooth. He’s also kind of slimmer than his Hasbro counterpart. However, I feel both are still ok in terms of scale against other 1:12 figures, as he has appeared in the comics to be big in size, and both figures are bigger than other 1:12 scale figures like Wolverine and Cyclops. I also know there are others who prefer the Marvel Select Sabretooth, who is about as tall as Toybiz Sabretooth but bulkier.
I really like the face sculpt of the Hasbro Sabretooth. The teeth, facial expression, paintwork and hair sculpt, they are all awesome on the Hasbro Sabretooth.
Toybiz Sabretooth’s face looks like a mess to me. He looks like he doesn’t have eyelashes, the sculpt of the hair is less defined, and he’s face is kinda dirty.
The mane on the shoulders are also better sculpted on the Hasbro Sabretooth. However, it is to white to me. I think it would look better if it is slightly yellowish.
You can also see the design on the thighs are also slightly different.
Both of them has the sharp thingy at the elbow, but I prefer Hasbro’s sculpt of it. Toybiz’s elbow reminds me of a shark’s fin.
The fingers on the Toybiz Sabretooth has 3 different points of articulation; last 3 fingers together, index finger and thumb. Hasbro just comes with clawed hands, and has no alternate hands.
The mane on the shoulder of Hasbro Sabretooth is detachable, as seen above.

Here’s a size comparison with Cyclops and Wolverine. You can see both are bigger. Like I mentioned earlier, I find both sizes up well against other Marvel Legends.

Toybiz Sabretooth (Series V):
+ Darker paintwork
+ Well articulated
+ Comes with a Sentinel base
– Ball hip joint
– Deltoids (top of arms) is ball-like
– Arms has a ‘plus’ sign at the front of the elbows
– Face sculpt not as good
– Hair and mane sculpt not that defined
Hasbro Sabretooth (Apocalypse BAF Wave):
+ Bulkier body
+ Vibrant paintwork
+ Great face and hair sculpt
+ Better sculpt on the mane at the shoulders
+ Clawed hands
– Mane is too white; a little of yellow would make it look better
– Paintwork may be too bright for some
– No alternate hands or accessories
I definitely prefer the Hasbro Sabretooth. He has better face and hair sculpt, better mane, and better overall size. I don’t mind the brighter colour as he is kinda mustard yellow in the comics.
The Toybiz Sabretooth isn’t that bad when compared with other Toybiz figures, but the shoulder ball arm, ‘plus’ sign at front of elbow and overall slim look is just not for me
