Marvel Legends – Toybiz Green Goblin (Onslaught BAF Wave) vs Hasbro Green Goblin (Sandman BAF Wave)
Here we have Spider-man arch enemy, the Green Goblin!
Toybiz Green Goblin was released in 2016. He comes with a glider and a stand for the glider too. The pumpkin bomb is attached to the hands. The Toybiz Green Goblin is based on his classic look in the comics. He has an unmasked variant too.
Hasbro Green Goblin was released in 2017, and comes with a glider and a separate piece of pumpkin bomb. The costume design is based on his appearance in the Goblin Nation storyline in 2014.
You can see here that the Toybiz Green Goblin is actually significantly shorter than Hasbro Green Goblin, or any other Marvel Legends for that matter. I’m also surprised Toybiz released him at this height. Fortunately, once he is on his glider, the height difference can’t be seen.
Both of them has sculpted scales. I feel Hasbro has done a better job with those scales. Both the figures have the same colour combination of purple and green, albeit a different shade of it.
The purple and green of the Toybiz Green Goblin is really vibrant and makes the figure look like he literally jumped out of the comics. Hasbro Green Goblin is comic accurate too, following his modern appearance.
The cap on the Toybiz Green Goblin has a long ‘tail’ that stretches to the left of the figure. Hasbro Green Goblin’s cap has a shorter ‘tail’ that stretches to the left too. I feel that its great that the tail doesn’t droop down as, if he were to be riding his glider, the tail of the cap wouldn’t be dropping downwards.
There is a hole at the back of the Hasbro Green Goblin. It’s probably because the body mold is a retool of the Bucky Cap mold.
Ahh. The man purse lol. Toybiz Green Goblin has a curved sling bag while the Hasbro Green Goblin sports a squarish sling bag. Both of them fits their own look.
Toybiz Green Goblin’s pumpkin bomb is attached to his hands and cannot be removed. It is metallic orange in colour with black eyes, nose and mouth. Hasbro Green Goblin has a matt orange with green eyes, mouth and flame effect for his pumpkin bomb.
Again, both looks good for them.
Here’s a closer look at the scales on his costume. The scales on Hasbro Green Goblin is really defined and sculpted well. Toybiz Green Goblin scale-like texture is also decent, although a bit more subtle as compared to Hasbro’s.
Those goblin booties! Toybiz Green Goblin booties are longer and has a higher pointed end. It’s probably longer due to the hinge joint at the mid-foot, but it does not look funny or awkward or anything. Hasbro Green Goblin booties also has a pointed end.
Lastly, the gliders!
Both designs are cool and follows their comic appearance. However, I feel Hasbro glider could have had the glossy dark grey colour like the Toybiz glider. Hasbro glider looks a bit plastic-ky.
It’s great that Toybiz at least has a stand for the glider, even though its not transparent. Hasbro Green Goblin does not come with a stand for the glider, so we got to use our creativity to pose him in the air in flight.
Toybiz Green Goblin (Onslaught BAF Wave):
+ Comic accurate classic appearance
+ Decent sculpting on the green parts
+ Nice pumpkin bomb and sling bag design
+ Cap has a long ‘tail’ flowing to the left
+ Cool glider that comes with a stand
– Figure is shorter than other Marvel legends (though hard to tell when he is mounted on the glider)
– Pumpkin bomb is fixed on the left hand and cannot be removed
Hasbro Green Goblin (Sandman BAF Wave):
+ Comic accurate modern appearance
+ Great sculpting on the green scales
+ Nice pumpkin bomb and sling bag design
+ Cap has a ‘tail’ flowing to the left
+ Separate piece of pumpkin bomb
– Glider does not come with a stand
– Glider’s light grey colour looks kinda plastic-ky
I like both Hasbro and Toybiz Green Goblin. There’s no way I’m getting rid of them; one is classic and the other is modern appearance. Both of them looks menacing.

Spidey is in for a Goblin party nightmare!
