Marvel Legends – Shocker Variants (Sandman BAF Wave)

The Figures

Here we have the shocker from Sandman BAF Wave. I didn’t know about the variant till a bit later when the wave came out. I got the earlier wave, which is the non-Thunderbolts variant.

The later waves has the Thunderbolts logo on the waist. Shocker had a short stint with Thunderbolts in the comic.

Both figures are exactly the same from head to toe to accessories, except for that logo.

Differences

You can see above, the Thunderbolts logo on the waist at the belt level. Yep that’s it. That’s the only difference. Nothing much to say lol.

On a side note, I really like the paintwork and detail on the gauntlets. Can’t say the same about the knee guard though, it is so plastic grey. Why can’t they paint it the same as the gauntlets?

Marvel Legends - Shocker Variants (Sandman BAF Wave)A closer look at the logo. The logo on my figure is printed quite cleanly. Again, the gauntlets looks amazing. Can’t say the same about those knee guards.

TL;DR

The two figures are exactly the same with the same accessories, except for the Thunderbolts logo on the waist.

My Verdict

I’m a complete-tist (if there’s such a word lol). It took me awhile, but I eventually came across the Thunderbolts variant at a reasonable price and jumped on it. I think most collectors out there would be contented with either one of them.

(Not sure which variant you would get though)

  1. Do you know how many of the Thunderbolt variations were made?
I’m thinking they might be fairly rare, and might become sought-after (and therefore valuable) in time.
    Nice website, by the way.

    1. Hi Thomas!

I’m not sure how many of them were made, but there are probably plenty of them. Hasbro always release quite of a lot of them for each wave. Of course they are harder to come by when the wave is no longer on sale.

I’m not sure which one is more sought after either, but personally I feel both are equally hard to come by. Don’t think they would be more valuable in time, seeing that the character is not that popular.

Thanks for dropping by the site! =D
