Here we have the two Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Nick Fury released by Hasbro. The first release is the single carded Walmart Exclusive right after Captain America: The First Avenger movie. He comes with 2 handguns and 2 rifles (I’m missing one rifle).

The second Nick Fury is from a 3-pack with Maria Hill and Phil Coulson, which came out after the first Avengers movie. He comes with only 2 hand guns.

You can see that the Walmart Nick Fury is taller. Apart from that, both of them are very similar. They wear the same trench coat and have the same head sculpt. There are some obvious differences though.

The hand guns are also different. The Walmart Nick Fury hand guns are black with silver at the top, while the 3-pack Nick Fury has a silver base with some blue parts at the top.

Differences

First off, what makes the Walmart Nick Fury tall is actually due the heels under the boots. The boots are also of a different sculpt, which you’ll see later below.Marvel Legends - Nick Fury (Walmart Exclusive) vs MCU Nick Fury (S.H.I.E.L.D. 3-pack)

Both figures have the same exact body. However, the Walmart Nick Fury has a tinge of greyness on his shirt. The 3-pack Nick Fury wears a black shirt.

There is also actually a slight difference in the skin tone. The Walmart Nick Fury is juuuuust a tinge darker than the 3-pack Nick Fury.

Since they have the same body, both of them have the holster under the left arm pit and at the right thigh.

One annoying thing about their arms is that it can’t be brought any closer to the body. Pictured above is the closest I can bring the arms to the body.

Their hands is an obvious difference. The Walmart Nick Fury has 2 trigger hands with fingerless gloves on them. 2-pack Nick Fury has fully covered gloves, and only one trigger hand on the right. The left hand is an open-finger hands.

Here’s a clearer look at the boots. The 3-pack definitely has an improved pair of boots. The Walmart Nick Fury has skinny legs and an even skinnier boots till a point it is anatomically impossible to have shins that narrow lol.

However, both of them suffer from having ball hip joint, and missing ankle rockers.

I’m so glad Hasbro has gotten rid of those ankles and stick to ankle rockers for all the recent figures.

Here is the young Nick Fury from Kree Sentry BAF Wave, who appeared in the Captain Marvel solo movie. I feel that figure has more likeness to Samuel L. Jackson.

TL;DR

+ 2 trigger-finger hands

+ Tall because the boots has heels

– Boots look to narrow

+ Fully covered gloves

+ Boots has no heels, and is proportionate to the body

My Verdict

I prefer the 3-pack Nick Fury, and its all down to the boots lol. I dislike how the Walmart boots look like, it’s really an eyesore, it’s just too skinny.

Since they are the same figure, both of them suffer from missing ankle rocker joints, and arms can’t be brought close to the body.

Still, these are the only 2 MCU Nick Fury figures, if you don’t mind the Walmart Nick Fury boots, having either of them is enough. This appearance of him can also pass off as Nick Fury from the Ultimate Comics Universe.
