The Figure

Here is a unique Spider-man, one that when I saw, I immediately ordered. It’s a KO (Knock-off) Spider-man action figure that uses the Marvel Legends Pizza Spidey mold. The suit design however, is based on the tech suit from Spider-man: Far From Home (FFH) movie.

You can see that the figure is packed with accessories. The figure comes with four heads; MCU Peter Parker head, comic Peter Parker head, a masked head and a half-masked head. It also comes with three pairs of hands like the Pizza Spidey figure. An additional bonus is the ‘E.D.I.T.H’ spectacles.

It did not come in any box or packaging, just bubble wrapped in a plastic bag.

Like the FFH Spider-man in the movies, the colour of the costume is also black and red. The web lines on the red part of the costume are well printed. I like that there is that silver thick line that outline the red parts on the torso and shoulders. It looks good.

The front logo is decently printed.

The back logo is well printed. The eye-catching thing about the back however, are those right-angled lines at the butt. Like, whaaaaat. I guess it doesn’t look terrible, but what is the purpose of those lines? Lol.

Here is one of the main differences; the wrist joints. It has a Revoltech-ish wrist joint, with that hinge joint as the connector between the arm and the hands. It is really interesting to see this joint. The downside about the joint is that silver part. They could have painted it same as the colour of the hands. But again, like the lines on the butt (lol!), it doesn’t look terrible or anything.

Now this is the most awesome part! Calf swivel joint and, presenting, the toe hinge joint! The toe hinge joint has never been on any 1:12 scale (6 inch) figure since the start of Infinite Series. And as to why the Pizza Spidey is missing the calf swivel joint is beyond me. Spidey need to be as articulated as possible!

The KO FFH Spidey comes with wall-crawling hands, web-shooting hands and fists. It also comes with the two unmasked Peter Parker head and half-masked spidey. The E.D.I.T.H. glasses are not that accurate, as it’s totally transparent here. I remember the frame of the glasses to be black from the movie.

Marvel Legends KO Far From Home Spider-man ReviewThe Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Peter Parker head is similar to that from the Spider-man Homecoming 2-pack with Iron Man Sentry. The KO head has a very cartoony paintwork. You can see the authentic head is definitely better painted, and has better details (like a more defined ear!).

Same for the comic Peter Parker head, the authentic version from the All New All Different Spider-man and Mary Jane 2-pack is definitely better than the cartoony KO. However, having said that for both the MCU and comic Peter Parker head, both the KO heads are still quite decent.

The authentic comic Peter Parker head has a separate piece for hair, which is glued on to the head. The KO head is one solid piece with the hair.

Marvel Legends KO Far From Home Spider-man ReviewHere’s a comparison between the KO FFH Spider-man and Pizza Spider-man. They have the same body mold. The only difference in the body mold are the calf swivel joint, toe hinge joint and the wrist joint. The KKO FFH Spider-man has a matt paintwork, while the authentic Pizza Spidey has a glossy finish.

One downside for the FFH Spidey is the feet actually does a smaller split compared to the Pizza Spidey, which already does a small leg split. Come on man, how can spidey not be able to do a split? Lol.

Above is a closer look at the wrist joint. The Revoltech-ish peg joint is interesting. Like I mentioned earlier, I wish it was all black, instead of that silver hinge joint.

There! See? Why no calf swivel joint for Authentic Pizza Spidey??

Here’s a comparison with FFH Spider-man from the Molten Man BAF Wave. The MCU Spider-man is still a teen, thus the smaller built. You can see the costume is similar, hence me dubbing this KO as KO FFH Spidey.

They have a similar design on the arms. I don’t know why there’s a small white rectangle on the forearm of the KO FFH Spidey. Lol.

The KO FFH Spidey web-shooting hands could not bend up and down as much as the authentic FFH Spidey, but you can see it doesn’t matter so much because the articulation up and down is still enough for dynamic poses

Up close, I definitely prefer the painted web lines on the costume. It’s great that the authentic FFH Spidey has sculpted web lines, but I wonder why Hasbro didn’t paint the lines black.

The spider logo on the chest is even painted better on the KO. Lol. The QC on the authentic FFH Spidey is quite poor.

The spider logo on the back also looks better on the KO. You can see the authentic FFH Spidey doesn’t have those right-angled lines on the butt. Lol.

Here’s the three of them lined up. The KO FFH Spidey is a hybrid between the FFH Spidey and Pizza Spidey. He really looks unique.

Again, I don’t know about the lines at the butt of the KO FFH Spidey, lol. It doesn’t look awful, but it doesn’t look great, it’s just…. there. Lololol.

TL;DR

The figure is called KO FFH Spider-man due to the costume being inspired by the Spider-man: Far From Home tech suit. It uses the Pizza Spidey body mold.

+ Comes with 4 different heads; MCU Peter Parker, comic Peter Parker, masked and half-masked head

+ Comes with 3 pairs of hands; fists, web-shooting and wall-crawling hands

+ Comes with E.D.I.T.H. glasses

+ Calf swivel joint

+ Toe hinge joint

+ New Revoltech-ish wrist join

+ Well painted web lines and logo on the front and back

– Leg split is narrower than the already narrow leg split of the authentic Pizza Spidey

My Verdict

It’s really an eye-catching and unique costume design to me. Although it is not an official comic suit, it still looks so great on the Pizza Spidey body mold. The accessories that it comes with are a lot; it’s always fun to get figure which comes with a lot of accessories. Although the unmasked MCU and comic Peter Parker heads are a bit cartoony, they are still decent.

The added calf swivel and toe hinge joint is probably the one that gets most people excited about this figure. It certainly got me excited lol.

It looks great in pictures, it looks even better in hand! I really like the figure.
