Here is the Hasbro Vulture from Demogoblin BAF Wave and Toybiz Vulture from the Sinister 6 Box Set. The Toybiz Vulture is in his classic appearance, and the Hasbro Vulture is kind of a mix between classic and modern appearance.
The Toybiz Vulture has feathered wings, and sculpted stripes on his whole costume, from neck to feet.
Hasbro Vulture only has the stripes on the chest and some on the arms, and they are painted instead of sculpted. The wings are also more blade-like. He also comes with an alternate head with helmet.
Hasbro Vulture is a retool of the Pizza Spidey body, that is why there is a hole at the back just like Pizza Spidey.
You can see the stripes also at the back of the costume for Toybiz Vulture, but non-existent on the back of Hasbro Vulture.
The Toybiz Vulture has a hunchback, just like his early appearances in the comics. I’m not sure when the hunchback disappeared in the comics.
The wings of the Hasbro Vulture are four separate pieces. You can see one of them is detached in the picture above. It is attached by inserting the peg into the rectangularish hole on the triceps and back of forearms. It does stay in place, but needs to be handled carefully when posing. Otherwise, it will drop off.
The wings of the Toybiz Vulture is part of the arms and cannot be separated.
The wings are different as mentioned earlier, with the Toybiz Vulture having a more feather-like wings and also slightly smaller than the Hasbro wings. The Hasbro wings looks more blade-like.
Hasbro has the open-fingered hands, and Toybiz has the articulated fingers (four fingers sculpted together attached by a hinge joint).
The Toybiz Vulture feet has the toes pointed slightly upwards. He also has the standard toe hinge joint, just like how most Toybiz Marvel Legends figures do.
Toybiz Vulture looks older and really like how he looked like in his early appearance. Hasbro Vulture looks old, but not as old as the Toybiz Vulture.
The design of the feather around the neck is also different. Both renditions of it looks ok, but the Toybiz’s version looks more like feathers.
The ‘feathers’ around the neck of the Hasbro Vulture is removable. It’s just a one-piece thingy that sits on the neck.
You can also see the holes for the pegs of the wings in the picture above. Kinda unsightly, lol.
Hasbro Vulture (Demogoblin BAF Wave):
+ Same height as Toybiz Vulture
+ Comes with alternate head
+ Wings are blade-like instead of feathery
+ Great head sculpt
+ No hunchback
+ Removable mane around the neck
– Wings does not attach well to the figure, it can drop easily when moved
– Lines on the costume are painted, not sculpted
Toybiz Vulture (Sinister 6 Box Set):
+ Same height as Hasbro Vulture
+ Wings are feathery and well sculpted
+ Great head sculpt
+ Sculpted lines on the costume from head to toe
+ Wings are not removable
– No extra accessories
I’m really torn for this one. Both have their plus points. I like the Toybiz Vulture look as it fits the 90s Sinister six in the comics. The sculpt on the head, figure and wings are really great.
On the other hand, the Hasbro Vulture is also accurate to his modern look. I like the blade-like wing, though it is super annoying that it comes off easily, and gluing them would make it difficult to keep this figure as it would then be bulky lol.
